Anistar Shelties has been a dream in the making since I was a child. As I am growing older and have been in the hobby for a while now, it has been amazing to see my dreams come to life. I began showing dogs in the AKC in 1999, but I have always had a love for animals and knew that my connection with them would touch my life in some special way.
I began my journey in the sport of dogs when I joined a local 4-H club. I took our family’s second sheltie, GrandSport, to the training sessions and was instantly hooked. From 4-H, I began training my dogs with Linda Scopa of Ohkom Farms Training Center; and she became my first mentor, giving me a wealth of knowledge about dogs that I will carry with me for a lifetime.
After learning more about the AKC and conformation from Linda, I knew this was what I wanted to do with my shelties. My family and I searched for a show quality dog, and we found Christopher, who was bred by Diane Troese (Emprise Shelties). We became members of the Three Rivers Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Pittsburgh and have found such wonderful friends and mentors along the way.In addition to showing dogs many weekends, I am a full time student at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. I am a junior this year, and I'm majoring in Psychology. I enjoy working with kids, and I work part time at the University's kindergarten; but my career goals as of now remain connected to the dogs - I hope to begin a handling career.
I hope you enjoy taking a look at our dogs, and please feel free to email me with any questions or comments you might have. Thanks for stopping by!
