Our family brought GrandSport home in 1996, and he fit into our family perfectly. He is the second Sheltie our family has had. He was also my very first show dog. I showed GrandSport in Junior Showmanship for about a year. A dog like GrandSport can teach you a lot - and I think he felt as though he sure had a lot to teach me. There were days when GrandSport clearly did not want to show. However, we did our best, and I learned ways to see past that. I got my three wins for Open rather quickly, despite the circumstances.

I've tried some obedience with GrandSport, and he did very well in the privacy of his own backyard. However, matches and obedience classes were a different story. We've decided that GrandSport would much rather enjoy life as a couch-potato, and he hasn't complained!
